How to Download Your Own Facebook Videos
The one case with no permission question
Almost everything written about downloading Facebook videos is about somebody else's content, and carries a caveat about copyright. Your own uploads carry none of that. You made them, you own them, and getting a copy back is simply retrieving your own work from a service you gave it to.
It is also the case people most often leave too late — before deleting an account, after a phone was lost, or when a page is being closed down.
Use Facebook's own export for everything at once
If you want all of it, Facebook's "Download Your Information" tool is the right answer and we will happily point you at it rather than pretend otherwise. It lives in Settings, under Your Facebook Information, and lets you request videos specifically rather than the whole account. Facebook prepares an archive and emails you when it is ready — which can take anywhere from minutes to a day or more depending on how much you have.
Two things to know: the export gives you what Facebook stored, which is the compressed version rather than the original file you uploaded; and the archive arrives as a zip you have to download in one go, which is awkward on a phone or a slow connection.
When one at a time is faster
The export is the wrong tool if you want three videos rather than three hundred. Waiting hours for an archive to retrieve a single clip you need now makes no sense — pasting its link here takes seconds, and you can pick the quality rather than accepting whatever the archive contains.
The same applies when you want the audio only, when you are grabbing something to re-edit, or when you only need the handful of videos that actually mattered.
Your video has to be public for this tool
Worth being clear about the limitation: this site only reaches videos that are visible to a logged-out visitor. If you posted something to friends only, or inside a private group, it is out of reach here even though it is yours — we never ask for your Facebook login, so we genuinely cannot see it. Either change the post's audience to public temporarily, or use the official export above.
Do it before you need to
Accounts get locked, pages get removed, and phones get lost. If a video matters to you, the time to have a copy is before something goes wrong. Start with the video downloader for the handful you care about most, and run the full export in the background.
