What you can save from TikTok
Public videos — reposts, duets and stitches included, as they were posted — and photo posts, where every picture of the slideshow is listed on its own. The sound of a post can be kept as an MP3. A good test: if the post plays in a private browser window without logging in, its link works here, whether it came from the app’s Share button, a computer or a short vm.tiktok.com link.
Posts from private accounts, videos shared only with friends, Stories and LIVE broadcasts are not offered. TikTok shows those only to signed-in accounts that are allowed to see them, and this site never signs in to TikTok.
The quality you get
TikTok keeps several versions of each video, and the list shows each one with its file size. The first is the sharpest in H.264, usually 720p, which plays on every phone, computer and TV. When the creator uploaded in 1080p, that version is listed as well: TikTok stores it in HEVC (H.265), which plays on iPhone, Mac and most newer Android phones, while some Windows computers need Microsoft’s free HEVC extension to open it.
TikTok has no 4K. A site that offers a TikTok video in 4K is stretching a smaller picture, which makes the file bigger without making it any sharper. Nothing here is converted or compressed again: you receive the file TikTok itself stores.
No TikTok watermark, no app, no login
When you use the Save video button inside TikTok, the app stamps the TikTok logo and the creator’s username on the picture and adds a closing TikTok card. The file you get here is the version TikTok’s own player streams, which carries no such mark. Nothing is removed or edited: text or another app’s logo that was part of the video when it was posted stays, because it is part of the picture.
You never need a TikTok account here, and this site never asks for one. Treat any downloader that asks for your TikTok password as a warning sign.
Saving TikTok videos on iPhone
Use Safari. When you press Download, the iPhone saves the video in the Files app, in the Downloads folder. To move it to Photos, open it in Files, tap the share button and choose Save Video. A picture from a photo post is saved the same way, with Save Image.
Saving on Android or a computer
On Android, Chrome and most other browsers put the file in the Downloads folder, and the gallery shows it a few seconds later. On a computer it lands in your usual download folder. The file is named after the account and the caption, and you can rename it freely without affecting the video. If a 1080p file will not open on a Windows computer, install the HEVC extension or save the H.264 version instead.
Photo posts and sounds
For a photo post, paste its link once: every picture is listed with its own Download button, at the size TikTok stores it, so you can keep all of them or only the ones you want. The sound of any post can be saved as an MP3. For an original sound, that is the audio of the video itself; for a song, it is the part of the song TikTok plays under the post.
When a TikTok link will not work
A link fails when the post is not public: an account set to private, a video shared only with friends, a post that was deleted, one TikTok shows only to signed-in adults, or one that is not available in some countries. LIVE broadcasts and Stories are not posts, so they have no link that works here. The message under the box says which of these it is. To check a link yourself, open it in a private browser window: if TikTok asks you to log in, this tool cannot reach it either.
Using saved videos fairly
A saved video is yours to watch offline, keep for reference or use in your own private projects. It still belongs to the person who made it: ask before posting it anywhere else, credit the creator by their @name when you do, and never use someone else’s video to pass yourself off as them or to sell something.
