About Us

What this site is

GetFbVideo is a free browser-based tool for saving public Facebook videos, Reels and Watch clips as MP4, or converting them to MP3 audio. It runs entirely in your browser and on our servers — there is nothing to install, no extension to add, and no account to create.

Who runs this site

GetFbVideo is built and run by a small independent team: the same people who write the code, keep the servers up and answer the mail. There is no support department behind us, and no connection to Facebook or Meta of any kind.

The tool is free to use — no account, no paid tier, nothing to install. Any advertising you see on the page is what covers the hosting, and that is the whole of the business model.

The guides in our blog are written by the same team, in every language the site speaks, and updated when Facebook changes something. If you find a mistake, our contact page reaches a person rather than a ticket queue.

How it works

You paste a link to a public Facebook video. We fetch the publicly available information for that video, list the qualities Facebook has published for it, and hand you a direct download link. We do not host, store or re-publish anybody's video: the file you download comes from Facebook's own content delivery network, not from us.

What we do with your data

We do not ask for an account, and we do not ask you to log in to Facebook — we could not reach private content even if you wanted us to. Links you paste are used to fetch the video and are kept only briefly, in a cache that lets a popular video be served without fetching it again. We do not sell personal data. Full detail is in our privacy policy.

What we are not

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Facebook or Meta Platforms, Inc. We cannot help with a Facebook account, recover a password, or remove content from Facebook. This tool only works with videos that are already public — anything limited to friends, posted in a private group, or shown only after signing in is out of reach by design.

Reporting a problem

If you are a rights holder and believe content is being accessed improperly through this service, our DMCA page sets out the address to write to and the details a notice has to include. For anything else, including bug reports and broken videos, the contact page is the fastest route.
